Citizen Science
What is Citizen Science?
When citizens help scientists study the world, collect information and send it to a team of scientists, who examine and process it, it is known as citizen science. Most citizen scientists are volunteers who are interested in contributing to a particular problem. For example, scientists studying insects of a particular region might ask the people in that particular area to observe what insects they see and hear and then tell the scientists.
& CITIZEN SCIENCE
Xperimentor’s citizen science projects are intended to foster inquiry and a research mindset in young people. Each of these individual projects will ask a broad question that young scientists try and answer by collecting and analysing data.
The projects will span over a couple of months over which students will familiarize themselves with the projects, investigate and record their findings. The project will conclude with students communicating their research findings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Citizen science researchers use the data you collect, to detect patterns, investigate mechanisms, and understand changes that happen in the world.
We have several projects open at a time. Based on what aspect of science you would like to work on and how much time you are willing to spend, you can choose a project that is right for you.
It really depends on the project and the mentor assigned to you. You may have to spend a couple of minutes per day or 2-3 hours per week.
You get to learn how to contribute to scientific research and also have opportunities to connect with your mentors and fellow science enthusiasts. You will also learn how to communicate science.
Yes. Citizen Science projects will be hosted on the Xperimentor app as digital quests. You will be given access to the project once you sign up.
